Project 6501 emerged as a semi-custom creation, proposed to the Owners as the inaugural hull of the limited edition Amels 212. This marked the pinnacle of series yacht construction at Amels Vlissingen at the time.
On April 23rd, 2011, the yacht Imagine was christened at the launch ceremony in Amels shipyard. She set sail, fully crewed, catering to Owners and charter demands, with Mediterranean charters already secured. Recognized by Damen Yachting Management, Fraser Yacht Broker, Owner, and OR, the project stood as an exemplar of meticulous planning, staying within budget, on-time delivery, and fond memories for the entire design, engineering, building, and crew teams.
Participating in the inception of the first Amels 212 was a remarkable experience, setting the benchmark for the series. With an unwavering commitment from the design, naval architecture, engineering, and management teams, precision defined every detail. Amidst high pressure, the collective enthusiasm of designers, shipyard personnel, and subcontractors prevailed, yielding a resounding success.
I held complete responsibility throughout the yacht’s build, encompassing financing, registry, classification, flagging, insurance, recruitment, charter setup, promotions, agreements, VAT returns, day-to-day management, maintenance scheduling, annual shipyard visits, private Owner operations, financial and VAT reporting, pre-sale preparations, promotions, broker agreements, buyer surveys, transactions, VAT book closure, financial statement closure, and a 5-year Customs audit. M/Y Imagine emerged as a prominent icon within its segment, gaining renown in the charter industry with returning clients. As part of Fraser Yachts’ esteemed Diamond Service fleet, Imagine’s crew catered to top-tier industry clients. Accumulating over 50,000 nautical miles, Imagine found a new owner in June 2015, concluding a remarkable chapter.
